Not everyone has the liberty to sit down every morning and eat a hearty and healthy breakfast. I'll be honest, it's physical and emotional ordeal to haul myself out of bed, coordinate my work-appropriate outfit and aim to be out the door before the morning rush hour madness.
Which is why I love smoothies. I literally chuck everything in, whizz it through the blender, pour it into a flask and voila - breakfast on the go! I particularly love this smoothie because I'm getting all the healthy goodness to kickstart my day: the chia seeds pack in energy, omega 3 and fibre, wheatgrass is full of good green enzymes, berries deliver antioxidants and vitamin C, and yogurt aids my digestive system thanks to billions of good bacteria.
So here's what you'll need:
Dipped Row's Super Green Smoothie
(makes 2 cups)
1 Tablespoon of chia seeds
Handful of berries or any fruits that tickle your fancy (I love strawberries, blueberries and grapes but you can add bananas or papaya and pineapple which also works a treat)
1 Cup of yogurt (either plain or any fruit variety)
1 teaspoon of wheatgrass powder (you can find this at any health store)
400ml of almond milk or regular milk
Now throw it all into a blender, pulse for about 5-10 seconds until its smooth and creamy.
Ta-da, green smoothie goodness!
And here's a little step by step guide:
Step 1: Berries
Step 2: Pour in almond milk and add chia seeds
Step 3: Add the wheatgrass powder
Step 4: Pulse it through a blender (around 5-10 secs) until its smooth and creamy
Step 5: Pour into glass and drink up!
